Carlyle Move & Renovation

This renovation tackled the need to upgrade a cottage to a retirement home and add space for guests and a main floor accessible bedroom. The cottage was situated very close to an eroding shoreline so the decision was made to more the house back from the water to accommodate its survival for the next 100 years.

A new entrance porch was added to improve the arrival and a new dormer was added to bring more light to the loft. A bedroom wing was added which included a master suite, guest room and a screen porch facing the ocean.  A new open concept kitchen improves the function of the living spaces.

New siding, insulation and widows update the aesthetic and energy efficiency and change the building from a cottage to a home.
