M.Arch., NSAA (Intern), LEED accredited
Rebecca worked in professional theatre as a props builder for almost a decade prior to obtaining her Master of Architecture degree from Dalhousie University. It was her love of seeing the wonder and magic of the imagined, manifested in the real world that fueled both of these careers. Surprisingly there is little call for designing and building baby grand pianos, artificial dead goats, and 40’ tall spinning trees in her architecture career, but the skills she gained in theatre, both hands-on construction and unique problem solving, continue to serve her well. Like Solterre, she strives to promote “building better instead of bigger”, and has gained training in LEED, natural building construction and Passive House, and is constantly seeking new skills that will promote healthy, sustainable, and compelling architecture.
