An absolutely perfect setting of lush grass, blueberry patches and a meandering river encompassed this building site. The existing house posed a challenge to use it as the basis for a complete restoration. The client's goal, to both live and work from this rural location, required many functions to work within a modest footprint. A defining piece is the gothic dormer addition, not only enhancing the exterior view, but also enlightening the upper landing with lovely daylight.
The kitchen layout offers lots of space to entertain and seriously cook . A full length wall of pantry cupboards - using salvaged doors - makes economic use of floor space and offers a buffer to the living and dining room. The open dining and living room opens up to a four-season sunroom.
