Solterre Design

Solterre's work involved designing a renovation and addition to this solid 1940s two-storey home in a mature, quiet neighbourhood. The design process included planning for multiple uses for the new garage addition. The main level hosts a full woodworking studio linked to the main house via a new airloc k entryway. Ultimately the studio could return to the 2-car garage function. The second storey of the addition is an independent suite connected by a library passage from the upper landing of the main house.

Windows were upgraded during the process, especially as the kitchen was completely renovated. The kitchen space is warm and comfortable, set off by the custom cherry cabinetry, and has an open view to the private backyard.
