The initial request for the Churchill House was to improve its street presence. Its flat façade with minimal roof line offered many opportunities to design minimal additions for maximum effect.
he result was a covered porch with entry addition allowing more space and closet area at the front of the house. A complete kitchen renovation updated the cabinetry, including the addition of a gas range. Kitchen and dining areas were opened to each other making the formal 4-square original layout more useful for the owners. A complete new 'room' was added to the house by adding on a dining porch at the rear. Only 18 inches above grass level, this eating area enclosed with handsome columns and porch rail, has become the favourite 'room' in the house.
